Dog coats in merino wool, fleece and waterproof fabric – for cold days, training and rain. All with full freedom of movement.
Wool, fleece or rain?
Which coat
suits you?
Choose by what your dog will be doing and the weather you're out in. Many active dogs have two coats: one for warmth and one for wet weather.
Wool coats
Merino wool stays warm even when damp, breathes when your dog moves and doesn't hold on to odour. The first choice for cold days and rest between sessions.
Fleece coats
Thin, stretchy and flexible. For chilly walks, warm-ups and cool-downs – or as a warm layer under a raincoat.
Raincoat STORMSY
Fully windproof and waterproof, thin and quick-drying. Keeps your dog's fur dry on rainy days without restricting movement.

HOW TO MEASURE
YOUR DOG
Back length is the most important measurement for a good fit. Measure while your dog is standing.
- Back – from the base of the neck to the base of the tail
- Neck – around the base of the neck

About dog coats
Dog coats for an
active life with dogs
A good dog coat should do more than keep your dog warm. It should stay in place when your dog moves, protect the large muscle groups and work in the weather you're actually out in. At Hundlands you'll find dog coats for active dogs and owners who are outdoors all year round – on walks, in training and resting between sessions.

Choose the material for the weather and activity
Wool coats in merino wool stay warm even when damp, breathe and are naturally dirt- and odour-resistant – the right choice for cold, waiting and recovery. Fleece coats are thin and flexible for training and milder days. The STORMSY raincoat is windproof and waterproof and keeps your dog dry in rain and wet terrain.
Fit and freedom of movement
Our dog coats are shaped to protect the back, loins and chest without restricting movement – whether your dog is running, jumping or lying down. Back length, from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, is the most important measurement. Read How to measure your dog before you order. If the size isn't right, you can easily exchange it within 30 days.
Frequently asked questions
Does my dog need a coat?
It depends on fur, size, age and what you're doing. Short-haired, lean and older dogs – and dogs waiting between competition or training sessions – often benefit from a coat when it's cold or wet. Read more in Why a coat for your dog? and Is my dog cold?
Wool, fleece or raincoat – which should I choose?
Merino wool for cold and rest, fleece for training and milder weather, a raincoat for wet days. The fleece coat also works as a warm layer under the raincoat. Not sure? Use Find the right coat.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your dog's back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail and compare with the size chart for the coat you've chosen. Neck and chest measurements confirm the fit. Exchanging the size is easy within 30 days.
How do I wash a wool coat?
Most of the time, airing the wool coat is enough – merino wool doesn't pick up odour and dirt as easily. When needed, wash it on a wool cycle with wool detergent and let it dry flat. See How to care for merino wool.
